Jules Background

I learned from Russell Lewis, owner & founder of Rhino Linings- This man was behind bringing Polyurea variations to America. As a great alternative to Drop In Liners in pickup truck beds, Mr. Lewis was that pioneer. Similarly I knows Claudio Burton who worked with or for Rhino & founded Line-X, popularly blogged as a higher quality product. While factual issues of qualities are defined later, here is caution that brands of coating, bedliner or otherwise cannot prove quality as well as credibility of applicators can. As for high-spec coatings requirements of large & giant applications, Richard M. Wilson taught me the ropes before names as president of Carboline. That education was at Sherman Williams Company, support for strategic business planning. While Sherman Williams & Carboline are publically owned giants, both Line-X & Rhino are private, between $100 to $200 million in revenues. Contracting with these vendors along with applying varied coatings on thousands of applications will help persuade you, hopefully to allow my advice.

Source of my back round

Jules Lupowitz (me), now a semi-retired industrial chemical markets guy born in 1961 (Long Beach, NY, USA). Here he will shed light on most grey areas, obscurities, uncertainties or secrets of Spray on Truck Bed Liners & Industrial Coatings for your benefit. This information was generated from his own mentors, past competition, vendors of these high-end coating chemicals.
For you to be decisive please consider & freely judge Powell's qualifications: 1979-1985- During Farmingdale Agricultural & Technical University & Hofstra University in New York, USA Jules worked with Monsanto, Ciba Geigy, Stauffer, Elanco, Dow, DuPont & Union Carbide locating chemical solutions & alternatives, mainly for farms. Under Farm Pro Industries, in Technical Jobbing, groundwork was laid for current industrial coatings knowledge. During this time farming was terrible economically but farmers hung in there & mostly survived.

Finding New Markets

Finding solutions to high-cost pesticides, herbicides & fertilizers which were destructive in the long run, yet impossible to avoid then, Jules turned to Slip-Proofing & Anti-Stick Coatings.
"Slip-Proofing" before the 90's was just that, a title. Although brands of slip-poof coatings existed the credentials or complaints at that time were dependent 100% on the applicator or distributor. No "brand names" were discussed in text, as they are today sometimes by clients but usually by professional bloggers who may’ve never even used the brands they write about. Similar to today most businesses & consumers don’t use the term, “Anti-Stick” very much, with the exception of farmers. The ironic thing here is that while slip-proof is a more popular term, requirements for anti-stick behavior hold much more value on sensitive, expensive assets needing this characteristic in a protective coating applied. More coating solutions are created, sold & applied with anti-stick properties than slip-proof.

The Point is Experience

In any case pesticides & fertilizers were never highly related to coatings or sprayed bed liners. But Julius's experience with sprayed, rolled & trowelled coating formulas, chemical supplies & equipment in general should aid whatever your decision may be. There were & still are serious requirements for adhesion of liquid agricultural chemicals to their substrate (leaves, plant parts, onto seeds, within granular fertilizers or onto soil particles). Since by definition, “high adhesion” means sticking to a substrate under most or any adverse conditions, there are similarities between any liquid designed to be applied to & remain onto its substrate, weather organic or not in order to perform its duties. Of course both technologies differ much more but for you as a client, or market-wise, purchasing decisions are parallel: Professional farmers are in fact small businesses. Businesses with serious coatings requirements must get through a maze of technical alternatives as do farmers, who, with many more chemicals than body shops or even pure coatings professionals must endure even more informed choices. As with any purchase of OEM or wholesale, high-end coatings, applications or sprayed truck lining, parallels exist with representation of professional applicators or dealers or vendors of these materials on a DIY basis... It is here where I’ll clarify your research; i.e. provide you with decisive information or at least point you in the right direction accurately.
