Dangerous-Chemicals

Dangerous Alternatives

Many alternatives still exist to reduce crop chemical cost, pollution, conserve water & prevent erosion but since I sold Farm Pro & Greenway, products from giant, public owned conglomerates became essentially required. These, giant entities now own great control over what we consume (food, air, fuel & many other supplies), some in very negative ways.
Examples such as Monsanto's power in the race to increase Genetically Modified crop production verses organics, GM is winning. Rumors of sprayed substances onto food crops that are designed to decay faster, appear true. These would force consumers into supermarkets, also redesigned as we know to induce us to buy more items we may never actually need. I see my fruit getting over ripe much faster than a 5 + years ago. In the recent past, fruits lasted much longer before getting soft & rotten.

Parallels to Coatings

I bring this up because of parallels; obvious to me, this history is repeating itself clear as glass. Controls of the coatings giants like DuPont, PPG, Sherman Williams, BASF & several others gave "permissions" to smaller, oligopolistic coating vendors, mostly "mixing houses" that, under non-compete & non-disclosure agreements, manufacture those raw materials supplied by the giants. This protects the giants from liability of final formulas but adds middle men before even the named vendors buy these as, "finished goods" ready to pour into smaller tanks & sell in 55 gallon drums (usually) under their names only. Final vendors are not final clients as "Dealers" or contractors now purchase these, usually in drum sets along with "specialized" high priced equipment financed, usually through equipment leasing allowing a form of collateral in "hard goods" which makes it easy... Mixing houses are unknown as are actual raw material manufacturers, some coatings are quite costly from this path & several formulas are very dangerous.

Dangerous Coatings

Packed with isocyanates at VOC ratings that are mostly illegal outside of controlled booths & specialized protective gear, you the small business owners are the final users (applicators, dealers, etc). Here mostly I'm addressing one to 20-man shops & coatings or construction crews, collision & other auto & truck shops & new startup businesses. You, similar to our farmers I know & respect are now paying high prices for these formulas, not only in money but in risk that is misrepresented as, “Low or No VOC, Low or No Isocyanates”. All these smaller vendors, not only Rhino Linings, Line-X or Ultimate Linings are under $200,000,000.00, are privately owned & located (in towns or counties) where EPA, DEC or AQMD regulations consider high isocyanate levels & high flashpoints as “acceptable”... One vendor name is or was Volatile Free; maybe in Brookfield, Wisconsin it may be considered free of VOC but they’re sure secretive of any MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) released publically.

My Motivation

For this reason I take great pride in retirement in informing you small businesses on facts, true costs with safety on polyureas, fireproof coatings, high-spec industrial paints & similar items prior to possible errors, health-wise & financial causing damage to you, your families, employees or your own customers. This service of mine, if it’s of any value to you is only of genuine interest in you like a dept owed to smaller groups & companies relevant to this technology whose buying powers not only matter to me but run a big part of our economy.
