Relevant Experience for Professional Service

Three main formulas were developed by my team as I directed Greenway

Industrial Products, Inc (now just Greenway Products- sold & under new ownership).

1. Organic, Ionic, high adhesion wetting agents

Liquids made from recycled vegetation parts (the unmarketable parts of plants) that were negatively charged. These bonded with any sprayed chemicals & with the crop or soil itself. Functionally crop chemicals were more effective with these agents which either reduced quantity to achieve a result, increased effectiveness or both. Reducing weeds, insects or increasing nutrients to crops with less toxic materials at less cost became a popular (albeit risky) solution.

2. Slip-Proofing Materials

Liquid epoxies &/or high-adhesive, 2-part urethanes bonded with various solid aggregate. Usually the aggregate was quartz, silica or both of various granular sizes, applied by layering coat #1- Primer left semi wet, #2- Broadcasted aggregate to dry, #3- topcoat for full “sandwich-like” cure. These coating systems were considered high-end then as Greenway’s systems were more sanitary than grooved floors or roughed cement that became packed with manure & hard to clean debris. Known as, “Animal Accident Prevention” these were less expensive than new concrete barn flooring, handled all dairy, hog, house & poultry manure, urea, & high PSI pressure washing with caustics, phosphoric acid, disinfectants, etc as well as Bobcat style scraping. Greenway’s slip-proof jobs stayed rough or course for at least 6 years, if inspected & guaranteed by Jules Lupowitz. FYI: “Slip-Proof” systems were employed well before Spray- on Truck Bed Liner was invented. The popular name or title for this now is Rhino or Line-X, similar to gelatins called Jello or petroleum jelly called Vaseline.

3. Anti-Stick Coatings

These were / are still mainly for Grain Shoots, Grain Bins, Hoppers, Wagons that Dump, Tanks, Manure Pits & Lagoons, then even Disks, Shears, Combine frame parts, Giant Shovels & any platform or structure where mass must travel by gravity. Unlike & opposite to slip-proofing, anti-stick was developed to smooth with a low coefficient of friction. However both anti-stick & slip-proof applications must endure high stress over time without wearing thin or breaking free. Read About Dangerous Chemicals in Crops
